Explore Winnemucca, Nevada

Winnemucca is a city in Nevada, roughly midway across the state on Interstate 80. The infamous Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were said to have left their mark on Winnemucca. It is also home to one of the largest Basque populations in North America. The Basque Festival is held in June.

The Humboldt Museum includes tells the region's history with antiques and memorabilia, including a collection of vintage cars and American Indian artifacts. The excavation of the 13,000 year old mammoth from nearby Black Rock Desert is chronicled in the ice age exhibit and video presentation.
